Ginjah - Desperate In Need

Ginjah is hot hot hot - Summit Music Group hit the charts and Ginjah and the hit track ‘Desperate in Need’ is currently number one on the Kiss TV Charts in Kenya. And it’s easy to see why.

This cool and laid-back artist is bringing reggae back to our radios, and I am loving it. His latest single, ‘Desperate in Need’ touches on the poor and severe conditions children in third world countries are living in, and evidently, he is reaching his listeners.

With a cool Jamaican reggae feel, Ginjah has remained true to his roots and previous works, but has still effectively got his message across on a serious issue. Although Ginjah touches on some serious topics, he still manages to create a joyous and uplifting sound.

Buy the single and show your support, and while you’re at it pick up some more fun Ginjah tracks to pick up your mood. Or you can purchase his album ‘Never Lost My Way’, released just this last September.

This music is addictive, up lifting and fulfilling, with depth most listeners are looking for. You can’t go wrong with Ginjah.

Major D - Wake Up Call

This is your wake-up call; Major D is ready to get you out of bed with his latest album that will blow your mind!

Wake Up Call is an album with attitude. It fuses hip-hop and rap with a touch of electronica and very clever synthesizing, bringing diversity to its genre.

In all honesty, this album makes me want to hang my arm and nod my head out of the open window of a car, with Major D playing full blast for the whole ‘hood to hear – it’s just that cool.

And it’ll have that effect on anyone who hears it. Major D could turn the prissiest of people into club-hitting crumpers with attitude.

‘Come Sip’ will make you want to get up and dance until your feet burn, while ‘True Stories’ reveals a more serious side of the artist.

The layers of synthesizing and experimental sounds in Wake Up Call have made this album all the more unpredictable and enjoyable to listen to. It is thoroughly refreshing to hear a rap album that brings something new to the table.

Wake Up Call will do exactly what its title intended. So, if you need to loosen up, whack this baby on and you’ll be on your feet in no time!

Big Engine - Rock-N-Roll Machine

Big Engine’s Rock-N-Roll Machine is out now to blow you away and set you free from the boring social norms holding you back from rockin’ out!

From first instant, you’ll be wanting more of the band’s full-blown rock ‘n’ roll and catchy choruses that will keep that musical memory of yours occupied for days on end.

Big Engine brings a sense of youth and rebellion through their music, much like Nirvana and Foo Fighters. You’ll also find a twist of Southern American-style country in ‘Be Your Man,’ which comes as no surprise, as these boys hail from Jacksonville, Florida.

Don’t be fooled though, this band is far from the passive hunky-dory style country that we’ve seen in artists like Billy-Ray Cyrus. Big Engine takes country, adds some manly rock and a pinch of angst, shakes it up, and delivers it with gusto.

That being said, Rock-N-Roll Machine is nonetheless a diverse album, bringing an assortment of genres into the mix. For instance, songs like ‘Party Like a Rock Star’ and ‘Juggernaut (built for speed)’ are undeniably adrenalin-charged rock songs, while ‘Not For You’ is a soft-rock love ballad.

Rock-N-Roll Machine, will bring you laughter, tears, anger and a whole lot of adrenalin. It’s all the more reason to get your hands on this brand spanking new rock album.

The Boys are Back in Town - Big Engine kick up a storm with their killer live version of the Thin Lizzy classic. Check out this great track on iTunes for the world. Download this one NOW by clicking on the purchase link below.

The Betrayals - Euro Radio

If you’re looking for a rock album to enjoy, without feeling like your ears will bleed afterwards, look no further, The Betrayals’ Euro Radio has got it covered!

The Betrayals mix rap and vocals with a fusion of classic and new-age rock, and a hint of grunge. Combining these genres has made the album so diverse, making it all the more enjoyable and practically impossible to become bored with.

The band’s latest album, Euro Radio will engage you with a sound that resembles bands such as Rage Against The Machine, INXS and Kiss.

“Man Is Back” will remind you of Rage Against The Machine’s “Killing In The Name Of” as both mix similar genres such as rock and rap, and include a memorable guitar riff.

“More Than Words,” is a slower, more heart-felt number, creating dynamics within the album. It also has a classic 80’s slow rock feel, largely associated with bands like INXS.

“Eagle Fly” is heavier and has a grungier feel. It also has some experimental sounds throughout, which gives it its own unique and cutting-edge style.

The vocals that extend to great heights also show influences from Muse, which shows The Betrayals’ appreciation for rock anthems both new and old.

The Betrayals get some Euro Rock to blast ya ears to the UK. Check out the bands hot new album out now on Prime USA Records and being added to radio play lists globally now. You can download this one from iTunes for the world, just click the purchase link below.

The Funkanauts

The Funkanauts are bringing back the funk into the 21st century with their radical and psychedelic tunes. Their sound will remind you of the feel good tunes brought to us in the 80’s by Earth, Wind & Fire, and will make you want to get up and ‘boogy on down!’ (As quoted in Earth, Wind & Fire’s “Let’s Groove”)

You’ll also hear an influence of two-man band Outkast, who are famous for their party anthems world-wide, and that’s exactly where I see The Funkanauts heading.

This band will stir up a rhythm of funk inside anyone who listens. “The Right Thang” is a hip and groovin’ tune that will lift your spirits, and get your foot tapping, while “Keepin’ It Real” has a chilled out feel, and a sense of retro-cool. “Subway” and “Chocolate Lollipop” are love songs featured on the album, minus the gloomy melodies and instrumentals.

Play this album at home, or in your car, wherever it’s played, it’s sure to pick up the mood.

Reclaiming The Pyramid definitely has the potential to become the next party album of the year. So, at your next gathering, chuck these guys on your record player, and you’ll have all your guests dancing in no time!

John Enghauser - Lost In The Pages

This guy will be all over the radio in no time. Lush production and strong musicianship are a feature. Enghauser doesn't miss a beat, going from strength to strength with a diverse range of styles displayed within an extremely cohesive album. Lost in the Pages blends Latin infused jazz, authentic rhythm and blues, pop rock, disco and funk. A genuine party band, music purists will appreciate this as much as music lamens.

Think song writer extraordinaires like Lenny Kravitz and Stevie Wonder, John Mayer and Jason Mraz, not to mention the commercial appeal of Maroon 5, Blues Traveller and The Black Crowes

Gaurenteed to get your booty scootin John Enghauser is a man with true musical vision. His understanding of melody and harmony is made all the more impressive when you discover that Enghauser recorded all of the vocals on the album, not to mention playing guitar, keyboards and bass.

The kind of muso that makes highly 'technical' music accessible to the masses. The intracies come in the detailed layering. A less is more approach makes is sound so easy. Destined to be a genuine heart throb, Enghauser's delicate approach will make hearts melt as they are enchanted by his lyrical wonderland, delivered with a rare conviction.

Evolution Eden - Saturday Night Drive In

Evolution Eden unashameably epitomise the bad boy, sex drugs, and rock and roll attitude pioneered by the likes of Kiss, Aerosmith and Motley Crue. Evolution Eden sing about living the rock and roll life! You know what that means!?! Raw, unadultered, old skool stadium rock from go to whoah. Dual vocal and guitar attack and songs about fast woman, fast cars and fast music.
Conjurring wet dreams of 80's rock and roll revellers, Saturday Night Drive In is a commendable homage to the likes of Poison, Def Leppard, early Bon Jovi, Gunner's, Buck Cherry and Monster Magnet.

Evolution Eden do indeed make you want to raise your lighter high in the sky as you chant Rock and Roll's the Centre of the Universe!
